poojakapoor: womenswear: A Fashion Design graduate from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), New Delhi; Pooja Kapoor is one of the talented young designers in the field. After graduation, Pooja went on to complete her MA in Design and Manufacture from the De Montfort University in Leicester, UK. While there, she claimed top honours at The Femina Young Designers Contest ’04. After gaining invaluable work experience of over 4 years in London, she moved base to India with a view to start off on her own. She launched her eponymous label at Wills India Fashion Week, Autumn/ Winter’09 to incredible response. Her Avant garde costume entry saw her as one of the finalists at the prestigious World of Wearableart (WOW) Award’s Show’09 at Wellington, New Zealand. Her first ever runway show, collection ‘Nip & Tuck’ was presented at Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort, 2010 and was received with tremendous appreciation by the media, buyers as well as the who’s who of the fashion industry.
